The Changing Face of Indian Fashion Industry

India is a country with diversified customs and cultures. People following various traditions live here, their way of dressing also differ from each other. The traces of Indians being fashionable can be found out from the ancient remains of Harappa and Mohenjodaro civilizations. After the independence, globalization is being witnessed in the Indian fashion industry, due to which changes have occurred in the style of Indian dressing.

Styles of wearing saris and salwar-kameez have changed. The look is more cosmopolitan than region-specific. Different styles of blouses like katori style, halter-neck, back button blouses, high neck blouses, puffed sleeve blouses, etc. have become the hot favorite among women. The average lengths of the blouses have decreased. Saris are draped mostly in traditional back pallo style or gujarati style. Indian fashion scene is greatly influenced by its films. For example Mumtaz style sari draping inspired by yester-year heroine Mumtaz. Here sari is tightly draped around the body.

As far as salwar-kameez is concerned numerous styles and patterns can be given to this garment. For instance the kameez can be long, short, A-line, skin tight, etc. Such variations can be done to salwar as well as dupattas. Modern version of kameez is known as kurti, it could be coupled with jeans, pants or churidar. It has taken the form of Indo-western outfit. People in western countries too have started wearing kurtis.

Women's Scarves , Hot Fashion Accessories for Today

Women's scarves are one of today's hottest accessory essentials. For a simple piece of material, a scarf can whip up a fashion trend with a few simple knots. Putting on a suitable design of scarf can easily make any outfit a knockout. Beyond the elegance delivered by fine jewelries and designer clothes, a nice piece of scarf holds the power of making or breaking a sensational fashion wear. Needless to say, the impact of women's scarves to fashion as well as to women aesthetics is immense.

Scarves are traditionally worn to symbolize sanctity, character and modesty. In some cultures, particularly among Arab and Indian women, scarves are part of their religious attire. Scarves were even worn as to symbolize a woman's position in the community, while the remaining part of the world grew fondness to scarves because of their practicality.

After so many years of representing protection and other symbolic reasons, these accessories deserve such flattering attention. Designers realize that scarves are essential as a fashion accessory for women. Using an ordinary cloth, many fashion designers create some amazingly stylish modern accessories to compliment any clothing.

The choices of materials and designs for womens scarves are boundless, whether you prefer cashmere or velvet, silk or pashmina scarves that range from headscarves to hip scarves. Sometimes choosing just the right one to wear can seem challenging. The perfect scarf for any occasion is waiting for you in your own closet or on a boutique shelf.

You will find lovely selections of silk, cotton, cashmere, wool, fur and pashmina, just to name but a few. The assortment of available scarves from which you can choose is amazing. Considering the design, you should know that many design houses are forever manufacturing neck scarves, headscarves, scarf belts, hip scarves and shawls in a vast selection of color, patterns and materials. You can wear them with anything from pea coats to ski coats. Womens scarves are always popular, no matter the season.

The most popular type of scarves is of course, designer scarves. The most popular brand names set the stage for scarf fashion standards. These include but are not limited to Fendi, Gucci, Chanel, Pucci, Coach, Hermes and Burberry. They set the stage for fashionable scarves in any season. In fact, the majority of fashion houses built the brand names on producing elegant, exclusive top quality scarf designs for women.

Other scarf designs include head scarf and hip scarf. Head scarves are those that are specially fitted and designed to accessorize the head, a stylish alternative to traditional women's hats. On the other hand, hip scarves are those that are inspired by the ones worn by belly dancers. These scarves are very similar to a shawl or warp, their lavish and exotic embellishment and details make them fun and hip. We see Madonna and other young celebrities fashionably wearing embellished hip scarf over their jeans and skirts.

Good quality scarves are a great investment, no matter your age. They can offer you protection, comfort as well as a high sense of self-esteem. They are a versatile fashion accessory that is essential for adding a dramatic touch to any outfit. While wearing headscarves you can hide a bad dye job or a bad hair cut. Hip scarves can help you create the illusion of having fuller hips, even if you do not. Shawls are exquisite when you want to keep warm while wearing your favorite strapless or backless eveningwear. When it comes to making a breathtaking fashion statement, womens scarves are your very best friends.
